Hello marching band!
Week 9 wrap-up
It is incredibly hard to believe there are only 2 weeks left in the marching season. What began as a seemingly endless journey in July is now nearing its conclusion. DO NOT GIVE UP! DO NOT SETTLE FOR LESS THAN YOUR BEST EVERY TIME! Continue to strive to find ways to make personal improvements every time we march a set or play the music. Thank you for your flexibility this afternoon in our uncertainty about the box truck. Come prepared for a week of little fixes that will make a big difference- engage your brain every time and make every rep better than the one before it!
Week 10 announcements and reminders:
IT IS FINALLY GETTING COLDER. Please make sure students are coming to marching band with enough layers of warm clothes!
Payments for start up costs: Please make sure you are taking care of your start-up cost bills. These were mailed to homes in September. If you have questions about the items on your bill, or questions/concerns about payment, please contact Mr. Lutz.
Varsity coats: Fittings happened and orders are now closed. Those of you who ordered, I will get in touch with the exact amount you still owe, as well as a deadline for that final payment. The jackets should arrive before Christmas.
Duncan’s corn maze – Sunday, October 29- again, not an ‘official’ marching band engagement, but you are encouraged to come anywhere from 3:00-7:00PM for a good time, compliments of Mrs. Wanda Moore. If it would need to be canceled due to weather, we will make that decision around noon-1:00PM and will send it out on email and remind.
Attached are agendas for 11/3 Governor Mifflin game- (Senior recognition), 11/4 Governor Mifflin competition REVISED report time to 10:45am, and 11/5 Jack Frost parade REVISED report time to 1:30pm- be cautious with traffic.
Senior recognition at Gov Mifflin game Nov 3- Please remember that if you are the parent of a senior, you should plan to meet at the stadium concession stand around 5:45 for senior recognition that takes place around 6:15Pm- before the game starts. Senior students can have as many parents/step-parents escort them as they wish. Senior students- there will be a small sheet of info for you to fill out, coming to you this week!

More info will be coming out on a sign-up genius- reserve the date and keep an eye out- please help if you are able!
Championships- We will definitely perform at Hersheypark, and it will definitely be Saturday, November 11. As soon as I know more information, I will pass it along. Agenda page coming in the future.
Saturday, November 18- Reading Holiday parade, thank-you performance at Manderbach Ford, pack up equipment in afternoon. This agenda will be coming in the future. We will need parent help from approximately 1:00-3:00 to clean and pack up/move fry stand supplies to winter storage, and to load marching band items into the trailer for winter storage. If you can help that day, please contact Billy Harvey – firstname.lastname@example.org
End-of-season Lazer Quest party- Date is 11:30PM on Friday, November 24, through 7:00AM on Saturday, November 25, at Lazer Quest in Wyomissing. $35 per student, and yes you can use account money. Permission form attached- please print and turn in to the locked box with your payment by November 17.
STUDENT ACCOUNT FUNDRAISERS- There is 1 fundraising opportunity available right now that benefits individual student accounts:
1) Christmas wreaths and greens- We are trying something new this year. You hand information pages to customers, and ALL ORDERS ARE PLACED ONLINE AND SHIPPED DIRECTLY TO CUSTOMERS’ HOUSES. It is awesome! You collect no money and you do not have to pick up and deliver items. You make $9 for your account on each wreath/greenery you sell. The information page is attached and there are also hard copies in the bandroom.
